Sadly, this is Fr. Mike's last weekend with us.
Due to the pandemic guidelines we will not be able to have a retirement party - at least not at this time. Perhaps later this summer.
Fr. Mike doesn't EXPECT anything. His life as a priest has been / will continue to be about helping people grow spiritually, in their relationship with God, living out our Baptism together. A gift that acknowledges that & helps others grow is what he would most appreciate.
There are 3 institutions in his life that foster such:
The Institute for Priestly Formation is the group that puts on the course in spiritual direction he recently completed. They do remarkable work to foster growth in priests & seminarians.
Immaculate Heart Retreat Center in Spokane. It is where he started in this diocese. They helped him rediscover his vocation when he was wavering. Closed during pandemic they have taken a financial hit and could use help.
Bishop White Seminary. Here he proposes a fund for scholarships for local seminarians.
How? A fund set up in the parish office. You may write your checks to St Joseph Parish, with a note that it is for Fr. Mike's retirement fund. He will oversee the disbursement of your donations.
